"After a rough period in my life I had gained a lot of weight and could not get it off. On my daily walks I would pass the gym but I didn't have enough courage to go in. "I followed the path a lot of athletes follow in their life. Very active in my teens and early twenties. Then life starting happening. Work, marriage, kids, things to do and working out was seldom high on that list. As I became less active, I would put on 5 pounds here and 10 there. I turned 40 and I was over 400 pounds. That is when Chris arrived!

At home my wife and I wanted to get healthy and we were doing the right things from a diet stand point, but nothing was changing. There was something missing. One day, a group of us at work decided to start working out during lunch to try and get healthier. We got a trainer. We got extremely lucky because Chris was that trainer, and for me he was the missing piece to getting healthy.

Having been an athlete I knew how to work out. Playing sports in college you spend hours every day in the gym. You know how to exercise. But hours a day simply do not exist when you have responsibilities. This was my issue and my excuse, there was not enough time.

Chris starting working with us. He talked with us constantly trying to find out who we were and what our goals were, what issues where happening in our life. He spent time getting to know us so he could help us. He did not try to force us into a routine he already had like some trainers do. Chris built a program that would work for our goals. For me, he taught me how to work out effectively in under an hour a day, how to organized my workouts through the week, and what to drop if time really did become issue.

Has what Chris taught me worked? YES! I lost over 70 lbs. I have muscle tone I have never had in my life. At a time when my strength should be going down it is going up. How about cardio you ask? On my last cardio day I did over 3 miles of road work and 8.5 miles on a bike in 1 hour.

"I just wanted to drop you a short note about my appreciation for you working with me. I was not an athlete in school and had only done aerobics in college. Being a size five/six most of my life, it was hard seeing the weight increase after turning forty. At age forty-six and after trying many other things, I knew I needed some expertise about exercise. Since I am so busy with work and three active kids, I wasn’t sure if I really had the time to fit in a workout. You were flexible with times to meet me and knew exactly the exercises and reps I needed. Just meeting with you twice a week for a half hour was perfect for me. You encouraged me as I worked out and commented about my gradual weight loss. The exercises were never boring and you mixed up the workouts being inside and out of the gym. I appreciated the advice about nutrition and holding me accountable but encouraging me to cheat once in awhile. When I began working out in August, I wore a tight fitting size ten and by the first of December I was in a loose size six. Instead of going into a store and buying what hid the excess weight, I began picking clothes I liked because everything fit. My self-esteem was built back up and I was proud to wear more tailored clothing without layering.
